Stone Mason (E.A.Gilliar). Stagecoach from Ferry Slip in Port
Washington picked up Great Neck passengers at corner of Main
Road and North Hempstead Tpke (Northern Blvd)
1866 North Shore Railroad Company - Flushing to Great Neck 46¢
1884 North Shore Railroad Company merged with Long Island Railroad
1900 Middle Neck Road paved
1909 McKnight Realty Co. takes Title from Thorne Family of 600 acres of land, now known as GREAT NECK ESTATES
1910 C.E. Bartlett designs and engineers Village of Great Neck Estates
1910 LILCO incorporates, but Great Neck Estates retains Gas Lamps until 193
1911 GREAT NECK ESTATES Incorporated as Village under New York State Law in April provides for Village to have Police Department & Building & Zoning Codes
1916 40 families in Great Neck Estates decline to join newly created Park District
