The Village, incorporated
in 1911, is governed by the Board of Trustees. The Mayor & Trustees
are elected for a two-year term. There is a two-term limit for Mayor.
New York State Village Law sets forth the responsibilities, duties
and powers of the Board of Trustees and other Village officials
and Boards. The Village Justices are elected for a four-year term.
The elected officials serve without compensation.
The Board of Trustees meet
the second Monday of each month at the Village Hall.
Village Elections are held
the Third Tuesday in March at the Village Hall from Noon to 9:00
p.m. To be eligible to vote in the Village election, registration
is required with the Nassau County Board of Elections at least ten
(10) days prior to the election.
