Natural Gas Safety USING YOUR SENSES A gas leak is often recognized by: SMELL – Natural gas is colorless and odorless. A distinctive, pungent odor, similar to rotten eggs, is added so that you’ll recognize it quickly. Not all transmission lines are odorized. SIGHT – You may see a white cloud, mist, fog, bubbles in standing water, or blowing dust. You may also see vegetation that appears to be dead or dying for no apparent reason. SOUND - You may hear an unusual noise like roaring, hissing or whistling. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IF YOU SUSPECT A LEAK MOVE to a safe environment CALL 911 or 1-800-490-0045 in Nassau DO NOT smoke or operate electrical switches or appliances. These items may produce a spark that might ignite the gas and cause an explosion. DO NOT assume someone else will report the condition. Provide the exact location, including cross streets, and advise if any digging activities are going on in the area. IF YOU SMELL GAS - ACT FAST |

Advisory Please be advised that there has been a pattern of luxury cars and SUV’s stolen, not only in Nassau County but throughout the Tri-State area. Late model Land Rover’s, Mercedes Benz and other luxury cars with push button starts and key fobs are being targeted. The thefts are occurring at all times of the day and night in which the car has been left unlocked and the key fob left in a vehicle equipped with a push button start. The following are police recommendations to help safeguard your vehicle:

If you have guests staying at your home and find a need to park vehicles in front of your home, please call the Police Department to be put on the permission list. We will make every effort to accommodate your need.
Generator Installation
The Board of Trustees highly recommended that our residents install automatic standby generators on their property in preparation for periods of power outages. The Building Department is working with the Board and the Residents to make the process of installing a Generator both safe and easy. Click here for more information. |
